In order to apply to answer a prayer, you must first meet the prerequisites for the prayer. The requirements listed are what you need to do, both IC and OOC, in order for the prayer to be considered answered.
No Longer Valid as of June 21st 2018: Any reward in
blue is for gods and rewards in
orange are for shinki. Please note that all expiration dates refer to

Pre-Reqs and Results
For some general Prayer questions including how to answer prayers with only a Soulless shinki, here is the
Prayers FAQ link. Write-up responses (with or without a Soulless shinki) to Prayers and Missions can be made directly to the prayer thread in a comment, or emailed to the mod account with the Prayer/Mission number in the subject line.
- Minimum follower and exp count requirements for Prayers and Missions use the Total points
- Comment counts must be met by characters going on the prayer or mission, i.e. the ones mentioned in the comment request for a prayer. Whether it's an NPC joining the thread or another PC character swooping in for a comment or two, none of those comments count towards the minimum required to turn in the prayer.
- When the Pre-Req is a previous Prayer or Mission, you may respond to the same thread on this page to keep all of the comments in the same chain together. Alternatively, you may reply to the mod post and link back to the previous thread in which the pre-req was approved.
- You may not request a Prayer or Mission and its Pre-Req at the same time. The Pre-Req must be approved before requesting the follow-up Prayer or Mission.
- Only one participating character must fulfill the pre-requisite requirements. This means that a god with few followers paired with an experienced shinki, or vice versa a newer shinki paired with an older god, can still take on prayers or missions with a high pre-req follower/exp minimum.
- When the reward is an item, you may write in your request for the item and the mods will approve it at any point in the prayer/mission thread - either in the initial request or when the reward comment is posted. Alternately, players may simply request that the mods choose their item for them at random - please also put this in a comment to the prayer/mission thread, again at any point.
- When the reward is a discount on a Regain, only one discount may be applied per Regain. For example, two discounts could be applied to two different Extra Power Regains, or 1 Extra Power and 1 Private Meeting, etc. The different Regains can be included in one comment or multiple.
- For Missions: Additionally, some of these threads may sound open-ended in their results. That's because when you respond with your thread linked, we will be reading it and then responding with what you find! For NPC interactions (ayakashi or gods), we will expect a link earlier so that the thread can be handed off. The Missions where this is expected can be specially annotated, but at bare minimum the Mission Accepted response will prompt for when we need the thread response comment.
When you have completed the OOC and IC requirements for the prayer, you should reply to the comment where you claimed the prayer with a link to the thread where all requirements are met. OOC would be the number of comments and IC would be the goals of the thread, like comfort someone or destroy an ayakashi. IC requirements can be "met" if the thread has hit "forward momentum", i.e. it's an inevitable conclusion that the IC requirement will actually happen. For example: an ayakashi can count as "defeated" if the battle is underway and a bonded god-shinki pair is available to cast Rend. OOC pre-reqs and comment reqs are stricter; pre-requisite threads and minimum follower/exp counts** must be met prior to requesting the prayer/mission, then comment totals must be met during the prayer/mission.
Once the prayer is approved by a response from the mod account, the rewards will be granted to your character instantly, meaning they are added to your Follower/Exp Total and Available counts. **So this means that follower/exp minimum Total counts can be met based on the last updated totals from the
Monthly Tag Counts plus any prayers/missions completed in the interim timeframe.
Each character may take up to
THREE prayer or missions at any given time. Once you have fulfilled one of those prayers or missions, you may take on another one.
A maximum of
FIVE played characters (so not including soulless shinki) can request any given prayer or mission. In order to get credit for any prayer or mission they participate in, any one character must have made at least 3 comments to the thread regardless of comment requirements. For example, 5 characters request a prayer only requiring 10 comments. If they turn the prayer in at 10 comments, only some of the characters - the ones that made 3 comments - will get credit for the prayer, so it'd be better to wait until at least 15 comments, or 3 comments per 5 characters.
Mod Roll Note: For prayers requiring a mod d20 roll, the number you need to be rolled is listed (ie "6+" would mean you'd have to roll a 6 or higher). If you would prefer to automatically fail (for development reasons or otherwise), please note so in your comment. Any roll failures will not count towards completing the prayer, but you will not be deducted followers/exp for failing.
Slots, Charms, and Failed Rolls
The Slots that a character currently has available can be seen on
the Slots tab, or on
the full google document which includes additional information:
- The format of the Slots list is "Page # @ Prayer/Mission #"
Page # refers to this entry's pages. Prayer/Mission # refers to those on the Prayers & Missions tabs.
So "14 @ M05" means Page 14 is where the comment can be found, then searched by character name(s), then looking for the comment for Mission 05.
- Characters in the same group for a Prayers/Mission request will all have the same format, but it may be in different slots. For instance, Character A may have "14 @ M05" in Slot 1, but Character B may have "14 @ M05" in Slot 2 if their Slot 1 was already filled at the time of the request.
- Charms have occasionally been rewards for Prayers/Missions. So far, all of them have the same function: when a mod roll results in a failure, the Charm can be invoked (single use) and the Prayer/Mission can proceed as if the mod roll was a success.
- Failed rolls are documented in the final column.
Characters can re-attempt the Prayers/Missions that were failed, just not with the exact same group; at least one additional character must be added / swapped into the group to justify a new attempt.

Along with Ryoma's, Aymeric nabbed that list. Is there any connection between the people on there such as where they're from, any organizations, etc. Also, will Aymeric know any of the names on that list?
no subject
A few of them appear to have home addresses in other countries -- New Zealand, the Philippines, and South Korea -- which is definitely out of place for a rural vacation spot in Japan at this time of year.
Mitsui Ryou's name is on the list, along with a home address for him in the Tokyo suburbs. (Aymeric will know his name from Ginia's information given at her IC cult investigation meeting.)

It's certainly possible for them to follow this up by investigating all those people in the context of a custom mission, either with just the two of them or with additional characters brought in to help. If you prefer to get the list of names to be ICly shared, that's also an option, as is handwaving checking out all of those people to narrow down the list to those who appear the most suspicious.

God Character(s): Aymeric de Borel
Shinki Character(s): Ryoma
Prayer/Mission #: 32
Pre-Requisite Link (if any): Upthread; they want to look into the lists of names they've gathered from the hotel and pissed off merchants and investigate further if any of them are a good lead.

Aymeric and Ryoma will need to visit the addresses included with each of the names in order to determine which of them are the homes of people who may have something to do with the cult's activities in the forest.
They will discover that the majority of the homes and apartments appear unremarkable, without any indications of interest in religious or magical activities. A handful of them are distinctly unusual. In the homes of Mitsui Ryou, Shimoda Tsuki, Oota Saburo, and Maeda Shinnosuke, the duo will be able to find to some relevant objects that will provide clues - clothing, printed evidence, and psuedo-religious iconography. Hunting will earn more specific clues. The home of Imai Takeru is a bit more of a special case, and will require care to even approach it, another clue available upon the attempt.
15 exp per home investigated
Please respond here when you have begun the task requested of you with a link to it, and a mod will watch the thread to provide clues in an ongoing manner if CLUE REQUEST is added to a comment's subject line.
*Each player may choose the kind of object for their reward, although it should be the kind of item that could be found in one of the homes during the mission and will be mod-approved in this thread. You may provide 2 or 3 options if you are concerned that it wouldn't be approved.
With proper html. This ain't Plurk
A Question
Since Ryoma dropped before the Mission could be completed, I didn't know weither to tell you guys or what. Or what would be the consequences for them?

Shimoda Tsuki appears to be an enthusiastic amateur horticulturist. He's filled his small apartment with plants: succulents, wide-leaved vines, and tropical flowers almost hide the walls and furniture. His personal effects are sparse. A slightly dusty suit hangs in the closet, alongside a larger collection of plain denim or leather jackets and casual collared shirts, and a recently cleaned black, hooded robe. He has a calendar hanging on the wall -- the plain variety with a single picture and tear-off months -- with his work schedule scribbled in on it. Last year's calendar is still in the desk trash, which is about half full and doesn't seem to have been emptied in several months; going through the trash will reveal monthly schedules going back to last October, along with vacations written in and the occasional mysterious note.
Oota Saburo lives in a modest apartment with his wife and two children, a five-year-old daughter and two-year-old son. The apartment is filled with children's toys, a pet horned beetle enclosure, kindergarten assignments carefully tacked up onto the walls along with framed candid pictures of the family, and a clear effort (if a losing effort) to keep things under control. His wife is a cheerful, round-faced woman a few years older than he is, who works nights at a bento factory; he's a sales representative for an import company, and is often away on business. It seems he's away at the moment. There's very little suspicious material to be found, although the city calendar tacked on the kitchen wall does list his business trips over the past several months, many of which are within the country but some of which have been overseas, to Australia and even as far away as the United Kingdom.
Imai Takeru lives in a small house in the Tokyo suburbs. It is well-kept, with a pristine flagstone-paved yard that contains a few ornamental potted plants but no garden. Upon approaching the home, the two will discover that there is an oppressive atmosphere around it that makes it increasingly difficult to get close. Pushing through the oppressive atmosphere will cause shaking, nausea and dizziness, all growing worse until either the person approaching retreats or reaches the front gate.
The gate has two matching stars engraved on the doorposts, at eye level for someone about 175cm tall. It is impossible for a being of the Far Shore to walk between them, and attempts to teleport inside the house or fly over the house will mysteriously result in the god appearing or being forced to the ground just outside the wall (and subject to the worst effects of the nausea and dizziness.) The wall is a little over two meters tall, and is topped with razor wire that raises it another 20cm.

As for what Aymeric would have done, he would have taken as many photos as he can of all the places. Photos are better than trying to steal from the cultists...even if some are dads. He, also being an idiot (and me because I haven't made him suffer enough), he would attempt to get in Takeru's place but end up getting pwned and sick. Then realize that he knows shit about charms and retreat so he doesn't end up throwing up on the nice lawn.
Nice house but asshole owner I guess.
Also due to this, Aymeric would have given this info to the folks at the meeting, especially Ginia since she has been working on the cultist case. This has also been discussed with the mun as well!

And is there anything specfic written in the note?

As for the note, it seems that Saburo himself was experimenting to discover all the uses of the headphones and the note contains his thoughts, the tests he'd done and the results he'd found. Basically an easy instruction manual for how the headphones can be used and for what purpose.
