In order to apply to answer a prayer, you must first meet the prerequisites for the prayer. The requirements listed are what you need to do, both IC and OOC, in order for the prayer to be considered answered.
No Longer Valid as of June 21st 2018: Any reward in

Pre-Reqs and Results
For some general Prayer questions including how to answer prayers with only a Soulless shinki, here is the
Prayers FAQ link. Write-up responses (with or without a Soulless shinki) to Prayers and Missions can be made directly to the prayer thread in a comment, or emailed to the mod account with the Prayer/Mission number in the subject line.
- Minimum follower and exp count requirements for Prayers and Missions use the Total points
- Comment counts must be met by characters going on the prayer or mission, i.e. the ones mentioned in the comment request for a prayer. Whether it's an NPC joining the thread or another PC character swooping in for a comment or two, none of those comments count towards the minimum required to turn in the prayer.
- When the Pre-Req is a previous Prayer or Mission, you may respond to the same thread on this page to keep all of the comments in the same chain together. Alternatively, you may reply to the mod post and link back to the previous thread in which the pre-req was approved.
- You may not request a Prayer or Mission and its Pre-Req at the same time. The Pre-Req must be approved before requesting the follow-up Prayer or Mission.
- Only one participating character must fulfill the pre-requisite requirements. This means that a god with few followers paired with an experienced shinki, or vice versa a newer shinki paired with an older god, can still take on prayers or missions with a high pre-req follower/exp minimum.
- When the reward is an item, you may write in your request for the item and the mods will approve it at any point in the prayer/mission thread - either in the initial request or when the reward comment is posted. Alternately, players may simply request that the mods choose their item for them at random - please also put this in a comment to the prayer/mission thread, again at any point.
- When the reward is a discount on a Regain, only one discount may be applied per Regain. For example, two discounts could be applied to two different Extra Power Regains, or 1 Extra Power and 1 Private Meeting, etc. The different Regains can be included in one comment or multiple.
- For Missions: Additionally, some of these threads may sound open-ended in their results. That's because when you respond with your thread linked, we will be reading it and then responding with what you find! For NPC interactions (ayakashi or gods), we will expect a link earlier so that the thread can be handed off. The Missions where this is expected can be specially annotated, but at bare minimum the Mission Accepted response will prompt for when we need the thread response comment.
When you have completed the OOC and IC requirements for the prayer, you should reply to the comment where you claimed the prayer with a link to the thread where all requirements are met. OOC would be the number of comments and IC would be the goals of the thread, like comfort someone or destroy an ayakashi. IC requirements can be "met" if the thread has hit "forward momentum", i.e. it's an inevitable conclusion that the IC requirement will actually happen. For example: an ayakashi can count as "defeated" if the battle is underway and a bonded god-shinki pair is available to cast Rend. OOC pre-reqs and comment reqs are stricter; pre-requisite threads and minimum follower/exp counts** must be met prior to requesting the prayer/mission, then comment totals must be met during the prayer/mission.
Once the prayer is approved by a response from the mod account, the rewards will be granted to your character instantly, meaning they are added to your Follower/Exp Total and Available counts. **So this means that follower/exp minimum Total counts can be met based on the last updated totals from the
Monthly Tag Counts plus any prayers/missions completed in the interim timeframe.
Each character may take up to
THREE prayer or missions at any given time. Once you have fulfilled one of those prayers or missions, you may take on another one.
A maximum of
FIVE played characters (so not including soulless shinki) can request any given prayer or mission. In order to get credit for any prayer or mission they participate in, any one character must have made at least 3 comments to the thread regardless of comment requirements. For example, 5 characters request a prayer only requiring 10 comments. If they turn the prayer in at 10 comments, only some of the characters - the ones that made 3 comments - will get credit for the prayer, so it'd be better to wait until at least 15 comments, or 3 comments per 5 characters.
Mod Roll Note: For prayers requiring a mod d20 roll, the number you need to be rolled is listed (ie "6+" would mean you'd have to roll a 6 or higher). If you would prefer to automatically fail (for development reasons or otherwise), please note so in your comment. Any roll failures will not count towards completing the prayer, but you will not be deducted followers/exp for failing.
Slots, Charms, and Failed Rolls
The Slots that a character currently has available can be seen on
the Slots tab, or on
the full google document which includes additional information:
- The format of the Slots list is "Page # @ Prayer/Mission #"
Page # refers to this entry's pages. Prayer/Mission # refers to those on the Prayers & Missions tabs.
So "14 @ M05" means Page 14 is where the comment can be found, then searched by character name(s), then looking for the comment for Mission 05.
- Characters in the same group for a Prayers/Mission request will all have the same format, but it may be in different slots. For instance, Character A may have "14 @ M05" in Slot 1, but Character B may have "14 @ M05" in Slot 2 if their Slot 1 was already filled at the time of the request.
- Charms have occasionally been rewards for Prayers/Missions. So far, all of them have the same function: when a mod roll results in a failure, the Charm can be invoked (single use) and the Prayer/Mission can proceed as if the mod roll was a success.
- Failed rolls are documented in the final column.
Characters can re-attempt the Prayers/Missions that were failed, just not with the exact same group; at least one additional character must be added / swapped into the group to justify a new attempt.

- that the boy is someone who is not supposed to be in the Heavens (i.e. not an established or new god, not a shinki of any established or new god)
- that he managed to sneak in anyway at an unknown point before the Harvest Moon party
- that the patrols are meant to catch him if he tries to sneak in again, although she thinks he's not currently in the Heavens
- that they'd love to figure out how he got in/whose temple he might have used to sneak in, and the god of that temple would be expected to answer some tough questions about it.
She will tell Shun and Lavi that's all the information that's available.

Or it was occupied. It's a small, cheap apartment that shows signs of having been hastily vacated. Insects are buzzing around a half-full kitchen trash can, there are three old futons still spread out in the bedroom with sheets kicked aside, and some old newspapers and unopened mail clutter the kitchen counter. The last newspaper on the counter is dated the day before the department store caught fire.
The unopened mail consists of: an electricity bill in the name of Maeda Shinnosuke; a couple of junk advertisements, one addressed to Maeda, one to Oota Saburo and a third to "Occupant"; and a postcard with an ink painting of a pilgrim at the Ise shrine on the front, and the text "Thank you for completing your work successfully" on the back. It's postmarked from Ikebukuro, addressed to "Maeda" and not signed.
Three paycheck envelopes from the Yamada corporation are also on the counter, but they've been ripped open and the checks are gone.
Among a handful of discarded hangers in the bedroom closet is a piece of silk brocade, already cut to shape to be sewn into a charm.
(Let us know if there's anything else in specific that they'd investigate around the apartment/further questions you have, and we will be happy to provide that information!)

They would be able to collect any of the evidence in the apartment they wanted to keep, such as the junk mail, sheets from the futons for scent or shed hairs, etc. However, anything that they leave in the apartment will be destroyed at the beginning of October, as the rent isn't paid and the landlord cleans out and re-lets the apartment.

After breaking into Saburo’s apartment, Shun and Izuku go through what’s left behind, Shun particularly focusing on the traces of the original occupant. He takes the electricity bill for the full name on it, the postcard, and the silk brocade to look further into later on. They do a once-over of the entire apartment, particularly looking for evidence of the third person that there seems to be no trace of, but due to not using the correct methods, they don’t find anything on that person, though Shun takes the futon sheets to run by Ken at a later date to see if they have much scent left. Shun figures that this was likely a temporary operation anyway – there’s probably not anything else of much value left behind, so he suggests they go further up for information. Since they combed the filing cabinets earlier, they did manage to find the name of one of the higher-up employees working on that project.
Shun teleports them to the general area of where the manager lives, this time taking a different approach and using the information about Saburo and Maeda to convince him to talk, since it’s obvious they’ve already started to dig into the real nature of the project’s failure. The manager, while cagey and reluctant to let too much slip, gives up the information regarding Fujisaki’s involvement starting the downhill slope of the project in hopes of defending his own reputation, even if he is confused about why it went so wrong considering their reputation. Shun presses more on the identities of the two employees who ran off, leading to the manager mentioning the work’s all been paid but refusing to give further information. At this point, Shun gets more aggressive with the manager despite Izuku’s attempts to stop him, and though the manager still doesn’t give the financial information, he blurts out the name of one of the executives tied to the project in his desperation to get Shun off his back. On the condition they won’t throw him under the bus for giving the guy’s name out, they manage to convince him to give them a place they’d be able to find him outside of work, and a visual description.
After teleporting to the new area, they stake out the given location until a guy matching their information shows up. This time, they use the initially suggested plan of going in claiming personal ties to someone affected by the incident, and trying to get the executive to talk through either sympathy or by way of apology. He admits the involvement with Fujisaki reaching out and giving them active help and better deals, and after a little more teasing out of the information and making the guy feel more at ease that they’re not just there to demand compensation, he also mentions being contacted by Fujisaki again. They ask him further about it, and he reluctantly admits he’s been preoccupied with the matter of Fujisaki threatening legal action, and the fact that nobody he was talking to before seems to have any actual connections to the company, or is even available for contact. After offering some sympathies and parting with the guy on reasonably good terms, they observe the entire thing was probably a set-up from the start, down to the false Fujisaki executives hiring the workers that fled after their job was done. However, considering the level of the cover-up, they also determine there would have had to have been some kind of Heaven-level power backing the effort, since no other ability would be able to impersonate Fujisaki that effectively and for that long – Shun also points to the postcard from the Ise shrine as indicative of a “sponsor” of sorts behind the attack.

[Clarification: if you meant for this to be 3 NPC threads, I can change this. I realize the write-up might have made this a little more confusing.]

From a higher-level employee, Shun would be able to learn:
- that the project started out seemingly going well, but after they contracted with the Fujisaki company, everything started to go wrong; the manager doesn't know why, because that company has a good reputation, but it was a disaster.
- that all of the paychecks have been cashed for the work on the ill-fated building. The manager refuses to give out any specific financial information on former employees (such as where they bank or what their accounts are, etc.)
From the executive, Shun will be able to learn:
- that the Fujisaki corporation reached out to the Yamada corporation to offer a partnership for their new building and actively assisted with hiring and ordering (he says that they got some remarkably good deals.)
- that the Yamada corporation has recently been contacted by the Fujisaki corporation again, now threatening legal action over the unauthorized use of their name in the disastrous building project. The executives he worked with before aren't answering any of their contact methods and the Fujisaki corporation claims not to know who they are. He's deeply distressed about this.
(Let us know if there are any specific questions that would have been asked that aren't answered by this information!)
