I swear I had another question but I can only remember one of them right now SO

In regards to shinki deaths, can an effective "overwrite" of the person count as their death? The character I'm considering was basically fused with someone else and ceased to exist as an individual at the canonpoint I'd be taking them from, and I was wondering whether that would be considered a proper death or whether they'd have to die in another manner.
