I need a clarification on Borderline due to this tag

Can a Borderline be used to exorcise an ayakashi out of the living being (an animal or human) it possessed, or will it only manage to stop such being as in case of the typical borderline? Similarily how will the cutting Borderline affect said being - will it injure it, or cause ayakashi to leave it, or have a different effect?
